Recording Almost Finished Tomorrow is our final day in the studio as we put the finishing touches on our new album. Everything has come together so great on this project, and we can't wait to unveil the finished product!!!! Monday March 13, 2006 Facing the Storm! Hey everyone - what a night in central Illinois last night! Several tornados touched down around Springfield and did some major damage. Scott had just made it safely into his basement when a tornado went over his house. Now that was about as close as you can get! Thanks to all of you for your concerns and communication during the aftermath of the storms. You are truly great fans and friends! We'll be back in action this Friday March 17th at Busters in Springfield, and again on Saturday March 18th at Bobby T's in Girard. First thing Sunday morning we are heading back up north to do three more days in the studio. This should be the finishing touches on our album. Our grammy-nominated producer, Todd Joos, will be working his magic the first week of April to mix and master our CD in preparation for manufacturing. May will be here soon, and I know you just can't wait! Wednesday March 8, 2006 Bowl For Kids Sake Marks Lost Boys 6th Anniversary On Friday March 10 the Lost Boys will be performing at the annual Sangamon County Big Brothers/Big Sisters bowl for Kids Sake at King Pin Lanes in Springfield, IL. This event is the largest fundraiser of the year for Sangamon County BB/BS. The Lost Boys have been supporters of Big Brothers/Big Sisters for many years. Jeff has been a big brother twice over the years, most recently having been a big brother to Vince for over 12 years. Vince has grown into a great young man who is now serving our country as a Marine. The Lost Boys are excited to play at this event, partly because it marks the official six year anniversary of the band. The Lost Boys first ever public performance was at the BB/BS Bowl for Kids Sake event in February 2000. Since that time, the same four original members of the band have stayed together and continued to grow. The Lost Boys have performed with many national acts, have won various awards, and are finishing up their second CD to be released in May 2006. The Lost Boys have come full circle, and look forward to helping promote Big Brothers/Big Sisters to help young boys and girls througout Sangamon County. Come out and have a great time and support a great cause! Tuesday March 7, 2006 Another Successful Recording Session We wrapped up our second recording session at Cellar Records today. All of the background vocals have been completed and they sound KILLER! We are returning in a few weeks to put the finishing touches on the project. Todd, our producer, will be mixing and mastering in April in time for a May release. Hang on everybody...we are one step closer to releasing this thing! Monday March 6, 2006 In The Studio! After a GREAT show at Tommy G's Saturday, we headed back to Cellar Records to continue recording. Today we knocked out background vocals on many of our songs. Scott has some amazing harmonies that really give our songs the signature "Lost Boys" sound. Rock rock rock rock rock...this CD is going to ROCK! Tuesday February 21, 2006 More Studio Time This Friday February 24th we will be appearing at City's in Jacksonville. This place is HUGE, and whenever the Lost Boys play the place is packed. On March 4 we'll be appearing at Tommy G's in Champaign, another big and fun club. Our previous appearance there was the biggest crowd we've ever had. We were told they were expanding the dance floor, putting in a bigger stage and an amazing new PA system. Not sure if that has happened yet, but come out and find out! We'll be heading back into the studio for several days in March to continue work on our CD - most likely laying down backup vocals and extra guitar parts. Check out the tour schedule for 2006. Several new dates have been added recently, mostly during our summer run. See you soon! Wednesday February 15, 2006 Back in Action! We'll be back in action this Friday at Chantilly Lace in Springfield. When we played there a few months ago the place was packed full of enthusiastic rockers! We'll be playing more tunes from our upcoming CD. This is a Budweiser True Music Behind Bars show, so we'll have lots of free stuff to give away. Get there early!!!! Friday February 10, 2006 Recording Studio - Day 7 Today was our final day in the studio for this session. Scott did an amazing job finishing up the lead vocal tracks for the songs. There is still much work to be done before the CD is finished. We have booked more time at the studio in March to put the finishing touches on the tracks so that Todd (the incredible producer and engineer) can mix and master them in preparation for manufacturing. We are still planning on a mid-May release date. Hang on everyone...it will be here before you know it! Thursday February 9, 2006 Recording Studio - Day 6 Another INCREDIBLE day in the studio! Jeff layed down most of the acoustic guitar tracks, and boy are they adding some dimension to the songs! Scott pulled off an amazing performance on lead vocals. He brought out so much emotion and anger that the songs just came to life. Thanks to our fans for the cookie delivery! Here are a few pictures from today: 1 2 3 4 5 Tomorrow is our last day at this session. We'll be heading home, giving ourselves a rest, and head back into the studio in the coming weeks to finish off the tracks. See ya later! Wednesday February 8, 2006 Recording Studio - Day 5 Sorry folks, no pictures today! Scott and Jeff were in a guitar recording frenzy today laying down rhythm guitars. They were so focused they didn't have time to take any pictures. They had a very productive day, knocking out all of the rhythm guitar tracks. Tomorrow they will start recording acoustic guitars and Scott will start recording his lead vocals. Things are moving along right on schedule! Tuesday February 7, 2006 Recording Studio - Day 4 Today Trim wrapped up the bass tracks (can you say "one track Trim"?). Jeff and Scott started on some rhythm guitar tracks. That was a little grueling, trying to get the right tones for the songs, deciding which guitar to play (see below) and getting the feel from song to song...but so far so good! Take care! Monday February 6, 2006 Recording Studio - Day 3 Today we wrapped up the drum tracks and started on the bass guitar. Trim knocked out 11 of the 12 songs...several of them in single takes - he's a MACHINE! The rhythm section for our songs is coming together and sounding big and solid. More updates tomorrow! Sunday February 5, 2006 Recording Studio - Day 2 Another fun and productive day in the studio. Shaun was a total monster on the drums! If you think Evil Potion rocks live, wait until you hear him power through the song on the CD! Right now we're back at the hotel watching the Superbowl and getting ready to order pizza. Later, Shaun is going to relax his sore muscles in the hot tub. More updates tomorrow! Saturday February 4, 2006 Recording Studio - Day 1 Day 1 of our recording session is now history. What a productive day! Todd, the producer and engineer has an amazing studio and he is a true professional. Within an hour we had unloaded, had everything set up and mic'd and were tracking. We were able to get solid drum tracks for 6 of our songs. Right now we're heading out to get some chow and then soak in the hot tub! Take care! Monday January 30, 2006 Time To Record! Thanks to everyone who came out to Buster's Saturday and enjoyed our last show before we head to the studio. Buster's was packed as always, and everyone had a great time! This Friday we head up north to start recording for our new CD. This is the culmination of 8 months of planning, writing and rehearsing. It's a new adventure for us, but it's also the realization of a dream that most musician's have. We'll be working hard next week to record some great music, and hopefully you will enjoy the finished product as much as we enjoy creating it. If time allows while we are working on our project, we'll be posting updates to the website to let you know our progress. Either way, I'm sure you'll be hearing more about our CD in the very near future! Monday January 23, 2006 Buster's!!! Hey everyone - hope to see you at Buster's Sports Bar this Saturday, January 28th. Buster's is a great place to see the Lost Boys. It can get crowded, but the fans have a lot of fun, and usually several girls end up dancing on the bar before the night is over. This is another Budweiser True Music Behind Bars event, so get out and get your stuff! This is also the last show we do before we head into the studio next week. We won't be playing again until mid-February. Take care and see you soon! Friday January 20, 2006 49ers! Be sure to get out to the 49er tonight to see us! The last time we played there this place was packed and totally rocked. We have been looking forward to this show for some time. It's a Budweiser True Music Behind Bars event, so there will be lots of free Bud stuff, great rock music, and terrific fans! Sunday January 15, 2006 Tommy G's Rocks!!! Thanks to everyone who came out to Tommy G's last night. The place was packed and the crowd was totally rockin'! Thanks again to our faithful fans who make the drive to Champaign to see us. Your support and enthusiasm is contagious. Guestbook Fixed Our apologies to anyone having difficulty signing the guestbook recently.
